EDUCATION

Scholarships and bursaries are funded at a number of schools and colleges with all scholarships and bursaries awarded internally by the school’s head teacher. In addition, two schools in the state sector have historic links with the Company: The Henry Box School in Witney, Oxfordshire, and Mossbourne Community Academy in Hackney, East London.

The Grocers’ Company Queen’s Golden Jubilee Scholarship Fund

In 2003 The Grocers’ Company, in conjunction with the Charity, set aside £500,000 to establish an endowment fund to mark HM The Queen’s Golden Jubilee, the income from which is used to provide scholarships to help London University to attract students of exceptional ability. Initially, The Grocers’ Company Queen’s Golden Jubilee Scholarship Fund is providing scholarships at Imperial College and University College London, which commenced in the academic year 2003/04. The scholarships are awarded to students nominated by the respective colleges.
